Tear repair, cracking and colour restoration to leather corner sofa

Project 1:

Sunroom Corner Sofa Restoration

Location: Pittenweem, Fife
Service: Leather Sofa Repair & Restoration

The Challenge

This large corner leather sofa was a much-loved centrepiece in the customer’s sunroom. Over the years, it had suffered from two major issues:

  • Sun damage – constant exposure to sunlight caused fading, dryness, and cracking across the leather.

  • Pet damage – the family dog had left scratches and wear on several seating areas.

The result was a sofa that looked tired, worn, and far from its best. The customer considered replacement but wanted to explore restoration first.

The Solution

We carried out a full professional leather restoration, carefully tailored to the sofa’s condition:

  1. Deep Cleaning – all seat and arm surfaces were cleaned to remove ingrained dirt, oils, and residue.

  2. Leather Repairs – cracks, scratches, and worn patches were repaired to restore the surface.

  3. Colour Restoration – we matched the sofa’s original shade(s) and applied a fresh, two tone colour finish across the entire piece.

  4. Protective Coating – a durable topcoat was applied to protect against future wear, fading, and UV damage.

The Results

The transformation speaks for itself:

  • The leather regained its rich, two tone colour.

  • Damaged areas were smoothed and repaired, making scratches, cracks and that arm tear virtually disappear.

  • The sofa now looks and feels fresh, with a finish designed to last.

The customer was delighted to see their sofa brought back to life — proof that restoring quality leather furniture is often a better choice than replacing it.
